Ed Towle is A.V. rated in Martindale-Hubbell and has been elected to the Southern California Super Lawyers in Business Litigation between 2004 and 2010. Mr. Towle’s extensive civil litigation practice is balanced with his work in alternative dispute resolution, both as an advocate and as an arbitrator. He has been a member of the panel of arbitrators of the American Arbitration Association for over ten years.

Mr. Towle litigates in both the state and federal courts, and also handles appellate work in these forums. His commercial litigation practice has encompassed international disputes relating to corporations’ disputes with founding owners over ownership of intellectual property such as trademarks, business methods, and software; Civil RICO actions brought against businesses in such disparate fields as petrochemicals and offshore gaming services; accounting fraud; breaches of fiduciary duty; termination for malfeasance; employment discrimination; securities violations; and international patent infringement. He has represented and advised insurance companies with regard to issues implicating the duty to defend, and the extent of coverage and indemnity claims arising from such broad-ranging subjects as herbal-pharmaceuticals, cemetery mismanagement, and environmental cleanup claims. Mr. Towle also has provided legal advice to trade associations, corporations and businesses, including obtaining and enforcing international trademark protection.

Mr. Towle attended law school at Columbia University, where he was named a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar for his “superior academic achievement,” and served as the Managing Editor for the Columbia Law Review. Upon graduating from law school, he became a Law Clerk to The Honorable Warren J. Ferguson, in the U.S. District Court, Central District of California. He later practiced as a litigation associate at Gibson Dunn & Crutcher. He was a founding member of Kinsella, Boesch, Fujikawa & Towle, LLP and a founding partner of Towle Denison LLP.

Mr. Towle has also provided significant community service, having served on the Board of Trustees for Marymount High School -- Los Angeles as well as actively participating in alumni services for Georgetown University.
